Tool Trust / Tooltrust Application Format
« on: August 31, 2012, 06:18:48 pm »
By default, players are only allowed access to the gravity gun as a utility SWEP. The physgun and the toolgun are both disabled by default without special permission.
The reason we have disabled access to both of these tools is to prevent spamming, distraction, minging, and overall RP diversion. While it is true that access to these things are somewhat of an industry standard, and can be used to help create and benefit RP, most often players don't use them to fully achieve those means. While a player who is given tooltrust early on might work and act properly and as expected for the first day or so, later on they take the privilege for granted, and begin to use their privilege inappropriately, cause them to overstep their authority, and/or distract and disrupt currently occurring RP.
At the same time, allowing players to access such said tools can also be a great output for opportunities both IC and OOC. For this reason, we've chosen to enact a PhysTrust/Tooltrust.
Applying for PhysTrust/Tooltrust:
In order to apply for Phys/ToolTrust, you must first fulfill the following:
1. A recognized and experienced member of the community.
2. Able to be considered dedicated enough to be a, "regular member".
3. Able to be trusted with the power and privilege of the Trusts.
4. Willing and able to abide by any administrative requests that require your assistance (such as constructing missions or setting up special areas).
5. Willing to accept any consequences that may come about due to misuse and abuse.
After you fulfill those qualifications, you may start an application thread.
From then on, it is an unknown amount of time before the application is checked, but most likely seen once every two days or so. You are allowed to bump your thread a minimum of Once every Three Days; breaking this rule repeatedly may result in a penalty and a poor reputation for immaturity, lack of patience, and a possible greed for power. If your application has not been replied to recently, it is most likely that it has been looked over, but you were not seen as a suitable candidate, in which case you should strive in improve your performance, and them bump it again to reevaluation. Begging for Trusts, or pestering a member of the Directorate through other means such as SF, PMs, or email will be noted on the record and application and seen as a mark of immaturity, lack of patience, and possible greed for power.
People can give input, but the final decision ultimately rests with the Directorate.
Abuse, Misuse, and Consequence:
Abuse and Misuse of powers is obviously disallowed, and will be swiftly dealt with. Any usage or exploitation of the privileges or powers granted by Phys and ToolTrust, particularly when distracting or disrupting RP, will qualify the player in question to an immediate revocation of the privilege and a possible ban thereafter, depending on the severity of their actions and their willingness to accept their punishment.
Additionally, banishment and misuse also greatly disqualifies you from reapplication for these Trusts and/or any higher positions.
Do not act surprised, whine, ****, moan, or say that such a system is unfair: we trusted you with power and privilege, and you exploited it for personal gains, proving you can't be trusted and can be punished for your actions.
